Dubco Ireland Launches First Free Lunch & Learn Series Webinar
Dubco Ireland Free Lunch & Learn Series Webinar with Focus on Financial Planning and Bowel Cancer Awareness
Dubco Ireland has launched a new series of free Lunch & Learn sessions, designed to provide practical financial guidance while supporting important causes within the community.
The first session, delivered online via Zoom during Bowel Cancer Awareness Month, brought together expert advice on financial planning alongside an important health awareness message, in association with Bowel Cancer Ireland and the NoRegrets Campaign.
The event featured three short, focused talks.
The first session, delivered by the Dubco Ireland Member Services Team, outlined the importance of completing and regularly reviewing a Credit Union Nomination Form. Members were guided through what a nomination is, how it benefits both the member and their chosen nominees, and how it can allow eligible funds to be released quickly, without delays associated with probate, up to the current threshold.
The second session was delivered by Eamonn Carney, Solicitor, who provided a clear and practical overview of making a will. His talk covered what a will is, the legal requirements involved, and why it is important to have one in place. He also shared useful considerations for financial planning, including how to prepare information in advance and ensure your wishes are clearly documented.
The final session focused on bowel cancer awareness, with Brendan Donlon sharing his personal experience of diagnosis and recovery. His talk highlighted the importance of recognising symptoms, understanding risk factors, and taking action early. He also emphasised the role of screening and the need for greater awareness, particularly for those under the current screening age.
The session concluded with a live Q&A, giving attendees the opportunity to ask questions and gain further clarity on each topic.
Dubco Ireland’s Lunch & Learn series aims to continue delivering accessible, informative sessions that support members in making informed financial decisions while contributing to meaningful causes.
